Tonight's dinner was wonderful. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and fantastic company! Thanks Colleen for sharing another one with me. And to top off a great night...Colleen was looking for some great black heels...shoes???? Let me take you to DSW! And after dinner, away we went for some fun shoe shopping.

Cozza's is a local Italian restaurant, white linen tablecloths and napkins just off Exit 0 in Jeffersonville on Court Ave.  We ordered the house special which was a pork entree and lasagna. Both were mouth-watering. We did share a delightful chocolate dessert that topped off the dinner.

I'd highly recommend this for a great evening out! There is live music some nights.

#50 - Stevie Ray's Burgers

I met a friend for lunch today and she obliged me for my "New Restaurant" goal...and we tried a new burger joint in Clarksville...Stevie Ray's. It was OK, but doesn't beat Five Guys. Just a burger place, better than fast food though.

#48 - Cuba Libre (Cuban)

Still on my Cuban run. This one (although temporarily closed to relocate to downtown Jeff) is my favorite so far. The civeche is AMAZING! Thanks Cathy for introducing me and for getting me addicted to Cuban food and especially the civeche! We ordered the civeche for an appetizer and then I ordered one of their Cuban - grilled chicken sandwiches. The sandwich was good, but nothing compared to the civeche. I'm hooked! I've got to learn how to make this!

I have heard that they are moving to the old Rocky's down on the river across from Jeff Boat in Jeffersonville/Utica Pike.  Can't wait for them to get there.

#36 - The New Albanian

My dear friends (and former employer) came in to town and we met at one of the "best-kept secrets" in New Albany. Not just your local micro-brewery, but a wonderful restaurant. The New Albanian is an open-air, concrete floor, rustic little restaurant...but don't let THAT fool you! You'll be very pleasantly surprised and the bounty of flavors in some unique and unusual combination's of food. I ordered one of their fresh green salads.

• Chef Josh’s classics, including Croques, Mussels and Frites, an afternoon “Brotzeit” appetizer selection, and nightly specials
• Casual, contemporary, smoke-free dining
• NABC beers, brewed by David Pierce, Jesse Williams and Jared Williamson
• Patio seating available in season
• A location in the heart of historic, revitalizing downtown New Albany

I highly recommend this on a beautiful spring, summer, or fall evening - although I'm not a beer drinker, Brian and Sherry said the been was yummy!

#31 - Tomo (Japanese)

My dear sweet friend, Quita, suggested another great restaurant...a Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi. Quita and I discussed me trying Sushi, but I didn't take the plunge. Enjoyed a delicious (you guessed it) grilled Salmon meal. Tomo is your traditional Japanese steakhouse where the chefs entertain you with their crazy knife talents and skills. Meals come with grilled veges and rice; soup and salad. Thanks Quita for a fun evening and #31...closer to #40!!

#30 - Toast On Market

Colleen...what a delightful brunch I enjoyed with you! If you're looking for an absolutely phenomenal breakfast - and unique menu - you've GOT to try Toast On Market. This restaurant was originally in downtown Louisville on Market and has crossed the "great ocean" and is now on Market Street in downtown New Albany (which is where Colleen and I met.)

French Toast, Omelets, and delightful combination's of flavors. These are just your typical toast and eggs. Kudos to the chef for the creative combination of wonderful ingredients. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

#28 - River City Winery

December 2009

A client invited me to their Christmas party this year at a wonderful addition to downtown New Albany...a winery. The food for this particular even was catered from an outside caterer, but the wine was tasty - full of a variety of flavors. I really liked their Catawba and Muscat. Their bottling area is in the basement and they have a great party room upstairs. The main floor has a large tasting bar and is very warm atmosphere. They have recently added to their menu to offer a full menu. I've had their pizza for a late lunch as well as the cheese plate while sharing two wine flights with a friend...it was all delicious. I'd be happy to enjoy a glass of wine with a friend any time.

The building is rich with history and has tremendous character.  From a downtown New Albany perspective...we're fortunate to have them and they're one of the few downtown restaurants that are open earlier (4PM) for those who get off of work a bit earlier

#27 - Kansai (Japanese)

December 2009

My dear fish taco friend, Deedree and her husband, Jeff have a friend who is one of the chefs at Kansai - Japanese steakhouse in Clarksville - Min Soon - so they helped me add another restaurant to the list. This was "dinner AND a show!" Min Soon did a fantastic job and was entertaining chef extraordinaire! With event he onion volcano erupting. I ordered the salmon which was delectable and the veges were grilled perfectly. Everything was a great evening with the meal and company.

#23- Tan Thai

September 2009

My client and now friend, Doug invited me to one of his favorite restaurants...Tan Thai. I had never had Thai food and it was quite yummy! I couldn't tell you what I ate as Doug ordered for me and we ended up sharing several dishes, but they were all delightful. Thai food is made in spice levels at your request. I believe my wimpy pallet only went for a 2 I think on a scale of 10?  They were all delightfully flavorful and delicious.

#21 - Beef O'Brady's

August 2009

Week #2 in the flower garden from hell...After Mom and I got finished today, we headed to find the next new place...and ended up at Beef O'Brady's in the Knobs (but this is a chain, so you can find them all around.)  I ordered an absolutely delicious sandwich - "Roast Beef Garlic Melt"...Premium roast beef, sliced onions and provolone cheese served hot and pressed on garlic Cuban bread. This roast beef was cooked to melt in your mouth and the Cuban bread added the perfect complement to the sandwich.

It's a sports bar so a very fun place to hang out with friends. I recommend it for a lunch or dinner with friends to just hang out or watch your favorite game on the big TVs found around the restaurant.

#20 - Five Guys

August 2009

So, after the flood that went through my basement during the summer, we finally got all that squared away and my dear sweet mother offered her Saturdays to me to get rid of an eye sore in my front yard that was once known as a "flower garden." I great to hate pulling into my driveway every day and seeing that mess...so she would come every Saturday morning and we'd work til it got too hot and go eat lunch at some new place - she was in on my adventure as well! Thanks mom!!!

The first Saturday, we found one of the best burger joints in town. Made fresh, never frozen. They throw a couple of patties on the grill as soon as you walk in the door. The burgers are always hot and fries are fresh cut. If you like things hot...try the Cajun spiced fries. You choose what fixin's you want on your burger and enjoy every mouth-watering morsel.

Five Guys is a chain, so you'll find them in many cities, not just Louisville.

#19 - Scuddles

Scuddles is a fine little fish place in the Knobs. My pastor friend, Doug and I went there one Sunday night to grab some fish. We had a good time with good conversation. I tried their Fish Tacos and doesn't even hold a candle to Bazo's. I tried Doug's white fish and it was good. Lightly battered which I like. Don't give me more batter and I have to search for the fish in there somewhere.

So, if you're looking for a laid back quick fish place with a beach atmosphere - take a stop here at Scuddles.

#18 - The Yellow Cactus

August 2009

One of my dear friends and colleagues from the Southern Indiana Chamber - Tonya - and I enjoyed a fairly typical Mexican lunch today. At the Yellow Cactus, you'll find the traditional Mexican menu with your choice of combination plates.

Chips were hot and tasty and the food was fine. Again, nothing to "write home about."

Tonya and I had a great time of laughter and catching up with life with each other.

#11 - The Windsor

June 2009

New Albany has such potential and has this one location that is the old New Albany Inn. It has been a number of restaurants and the Windsor is one of them. The chef here was amazing! This restaurant was a great French cuisine and the combination of foods was unique and delicious. I'm sorry they are no longer around. The chef did go to the Speakeasy - the New Albany jazz restaurant, but sadly, that is closed now as well.

#2 - Senior Iguana's (Mexican)

January 2009

My dear friend Colleen was up to the fun...trying new restaurants. We started with an easy one - Senior Iguana...a typical Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy. Nothing special. But good nonetheless.

I did try something outside of my usual "#3" and tried "Arroz Con Camarones" which is succulent grilled shrimp with bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Served over Spanish rice. Topped with shredded cheese.  Quite tasty.
